Using black and white gesso on cardboard I created abstract landscapes

This week I went to the studio and just felt exhausted.  I couldn’t convince myself to work on any of the many projects I’ve already started.  So I finally gave up and decided to just let myself paint some small black & white images regardless of sales or productivity.  Here’s a look at what I did in that hour and a half.

I’m particularly inspired by nature. Plants, animals etc.  I particularly love ancient looking plants and seeds.  I’ve been mulling over an idea of creating a clay girl wandering some sort of 3 dimensional Magic Garden landscape.  Here is a look at the work in progress.

House Fly

I’ve always been interested in old school scientific illustrations.  Here’s a sneak peak at my start.
